We
decided that we were going to call our production company JEM Productions. We came up with the idea of JEM because it is the
first initials of all our first names, Jessica, Elizabeth and Mia. We also
liked the idea of JEM because it has girly ring to it.We didn’t have any inspiration from any other production logos, this was because we came up with it together and it shows that we are different from any other production company.
This is Summit Entertainment’s logo, I have chosen this logo to compare how different our logo is, compared to this logo. I think that our logo is more eye catching and colourful for the audience to look at. However, this logo draws your eye to the centre of the logo, the text. It is more dominating then the picture that is situated just behind it.
By
putting these two logos next to each other than you can clearly see the
differences between them.
Both of these are logos are an “advertisement” of the
company, this is why they are used at the beginning of the movie they have
distributed.
These two logos are the same- they both have symbols
that the audience will instantly recognise even if they don’t have the writing
to match up with it, the audience will still know. What I like about both of
these logos are they have an image on them, JEM has three eyes to represent
viewing audience.
We
created the logo by taking a photo of all of our eyes in the group, putting it
on a software that we could then change the colour, size, fit them together and
put a text over the top. The text and the image are very similar to the Summit
logo, they both have text and an image, they do not have to be the same text
and the same image, but this is what makes them similar.
I
chose Paramount Pictures because a lot of successful thriller films have been
released but these:
• Shutter
Island
• Abandoned
• The Conversation
• Psycho
Paramount
Pictures are based in Hollywood, California, United States of America. They
were founded in 1912 as Famous Players film Company, then in 1914 changed to
what is known currently as Paramount Pictures. Adolph Zukor and his partners
Daniel Froham and Charles Froham founded them.
They
have released a number of thrillers and they have been a success, so I would
want our thriller opening to be distributed by them. Shutter Island was a very
successful when it was realised and is still very successful to this day,
Psycho was very successful when it was first released many years ago. Psycho
links to our thriller opening, with the innocent, lonely girl that ends up
getting murdered by an unknown killer; this is why I have decided that we could
use Paramount Pictures.
A
disturber is a company that release a movie to the public and the cinemas
around the world. They are the ones that decided whether the film will go to
the cinema or straight to DVD, they also advise the film and make the public
know that there is a film coming out.
If
we need money to make our film and get it out to the public, then we will get
the money from Paramount Pictures. They will pay for anything that will be needed
to create the film, then they get their money back from advising and from
releasing the film. This is how the movies are funded and how Paramount
Pictures get their money back and make money.
In
the credits people are mentioned and the job they did associated to the filming
or to the movie as a whole. The first people to come up on credits are the
actors and the roles they played, the main characters are the first on the
credits. Then it is the people like director, co-director, cameramen and women,
editors, make-up artists, costume designer and then it goes on to the little
jobs that need doing and people get mentioned that way for doing them.
In our thriller opening
we decided that we was going to have our group in the order of the title JEM this meant that I was first and my
job role- Camera work-, Elizabeth –Director- and Mia –‘The girl’ actor- this
was how we decided that we would have the credits. The reason we didn’t put the
characters in a normal order was because we thought all of our group did a lot
of work and put the same amount of effort into all of it. This is how we
decided that we would do it in the order we did. We also had pictures of each
of our group, this was a good thing because we all played a role in the film,
so as well as showing each of us, it played a important part in our opening.
This
is the credit we put into our thriller opening
